Tracey Emin is a fluent narrator who often writes passionate and candid testaments of her thoughts, beliefs and aspirations that deeply resonate with her audience. She uses text and the written word in various media – neon, paint, and embroidery. Her neon works imitate the artist's handwriting, spell out illuminated ideas and feelings: passions, disappointments and fears. Mazzoleni’s new exhibition MORE THAN WORDS... presents one of her blue gouache drawings, Deep Blue IV, a nude self-portrait sketched on a white paper. Emin writes a revealing thought: ‘The Confussion is I Love You’ above the sketch of herself, playing, perhaps, upon the words confusion and confession – a declaration of love. #MORETHANWORDS opens at @mazzoleniart - London 23 Feb #TraceyEmin #Gouache #Drawing #Blue #VincenzoAgnetti #JohnBaldessari #MelBochner #AlighieroBoetti #Dadamaino #LucioFontana #EmilioIsgrò #JosephKosuth #JannisKounellis #PieroManzoni#RebeccaMoccia #GastoneNovelli #DavidReimondo #MimmoRotella #Salvo #MarioSchifano #CyTwombly
