Exhibition of work by New York-based artist Pierre Huyghe (b. 1962 in Paris), known for creating complex ecosystems. UUmwelt has transformed the gallery into a porous and contingent environment. Large LED screens present images capturing brain activity: thoughts are reconstructed by a deep neural network and the images created are exhibited in the gallery, where they are in a constant process of reconstruction, endlessly modified by light, temperature and humidity levels, the presence of insects, and the gaze of visitors. The building has been subtly altered, affecting the conditions of the exhibition’s environment, while the central space has been transformed into an incubator birthing thousands of flies that migrate towards the centre of the dome. Please note exhibition contains flashing images, airborne dust and live flies. See the website for full details.
