Nashashibi / Skaer: thinking through other artists

Exhibition of films by Rosalind Nashashibi and Lucy Skaer (collaborating as Nashashibi/Skaer) together with a selection of historic and contemporary art. Five films explore themes in the displayed artworks such as the portrayal of women, the representation of global cultures and political conflict. For example, the film Why Are You Angry? focuses on Paul Gauguin's depictions of Tahitian women. The show also includes Ambassador (2005), the first artwork Nashashibi/Skaer made together. Featured artists include Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Paul Nash, Pierre Bonnard, Louise Bourgeois, Jo Spence, Lee Miller, Gauri Gill and Rossella Biscotti.
