#MimmoRotella: Cardi Gallery London is excited to announce ‘Mimmo Rotella. Beyond décollage: photo emulsions and artypos 1963-1980’. The show will be open on March 2 and run until 31 July. - - Mimmo Rotella, Italy's Trial, 1979 Photo emulsion on canvas - - This work is part of the photo emulsion series dedicated to the “Anni di Piombo”, a period of unrest and political turmoil in the 70s in Italy. Preserving their visual impact as newspaper images, characterised by their absence of colour and focus on a single image, this series reflected the immediate trauma caused. Rotella’s typical iconography became exchanged with visuals of terrorism, specifically the activities of the red brigade. - - #cardigallery #cardigallerylondon #mimmorotella #rotella #exhibition #london #décollage #artypo #artistincardicollection #artwork #contemporaryart #contemporaryartist #artist #art #historyofart
