Basquiat: Boom for Real

The first large-scale exhibition in the UK of the work of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988), organised in collaboration with the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt. Basquiat was born in Brooklyn to a Haitian father and Puerto Rican mother, and first achieved fame as a graffiti artist. Championed by Andy Warhol, his neo-expressionist paintings were shown in galleries and museums throughout the world.
